I winced at the cost but they are totally worth it. I bought the first pair after my toddler came home sobbing from forest school in December…his feet were icy. Now we have these boots there are no complaints. They are toasty warm. I tend to buy them a size big in the autumn, then they wear them with two pairs of socks through the winter, down to one pair in the spring. They are also really easy to get onto chubby calves. And they are phenomenally lightweight compared to the neoprene lined normal wellies I have tried, and I think that really matters at this age.They are not exactly the same as wellies though… they do get dirty and need the occasional trip through the washing machine (works well). Also, the ankle strap (which is a great feature for getting them on and off!) means there is a hole in the back just above ankle height, so these are not for splashing in really deep puddles. My children played in a flooded playground today and came home with wet feet.But for very small children, I haven’t found anything to beat them for general muddy play in the winter time..

Sophie H Great flexible boot These arent the cheapest boots but they are worth it! The sole is really flexible, a main selling point for us buying for a new walker. The inside lining is lovely and soft and the material is so flexible, it looks really comfy to walk in.The velcro backs help tighten it round the leg, however the only downside is the boot edge comes down where the velcro is so compared to a traditional welly you can get wet feet in deep puddles but the material itself is definately waterproof.
Emily Steep price but great for very early walkers Love these boots, wish I’d found them first time round. Great for early walkers like mine as they don’t constrict the feet, are warm dry and toasty especially for autumn/winter dog walks where little one insists on walking through the grass.Only downside is the cost compared to wellies, but I decided to get these instead as they are easier for little one to walk in while navigating uneven surfaces..
matt gwynne All my son wears over from autumn to spring. Love these, they’re super flexible so great for early walkers (son had just gone 2), lines so nice and warm and washable too. Just a great all round mud boot/welly. Not great for deep puddles due to the way they fasten and being quite short but good for day to day puddles and mud.We’re on our second pair (from outgrowing the last) and love them..
